Ferrari F40 LM

The latest project for the Simpson team is this accident damaged Ferrari F40. The car arrived from the states last year and has been several months in the making. The goal was to not only repair the chassis but make modifications to convert to LM specification and beyond. We started by repairing the damage to the chassis and at the same time installing a stronger roll cage which not only increases safety but also adds to the stiffness of the chassis. At this time we also installed mountings for air jacks and the mounts for the custom anti roll bars. Having completed this long job the wide LM bodywork was “dummy” fitted and the entire chassis powder coated in silver for a durable finish. Having completed the chassis we turned our attention to the suspension. All the wishbones were fabricated in house and all are fully “rose” jointed giving fast adjustment and excellent handling. Custom adjustable roll bars were fabricated and installed and the uprights fitted. The braking system was next comprising our own carbon fibre pedal box with adjustable balance facility conected to the Alcon monoblock 6 piston callipers front and rear. These act onto Performance friction disks mounted on bells made to our own design.
